The new 601 and 602 models removes also Component video output to hookup to older TV set or projector with no HDMI on board. With release of S601 model they removed most of these connections including both Components video inputs, and with S602 they even reduced number of HDMI inputs to 4 only. In addition S600 had 2 extra audio only inputs: optical and standard stereo RCA. Original S600 receiver released over 5 years ago offered multiple A/V connectivity options including: 5xHDMI inputs, 2xComponents and 2xComposite inputs to connect total of 9 video sources. ![]() Yamaha continues path of downgrading their receiver slimline series by removing available audio/video connections. However, if you think about upgrading receiver form older S600 model and keep all A/V sources connected as before, read carefully. If you look for 4K + Multicast capability in slimline version and have limited number of A/V sources to connect to, this is receiver for you. ![]()
